On board of the ferries of the Wyker Dampfschiffs-Reederei (W.D.R.), you can travel from Dagebuell to the islands of Foehr and Amrum up to 14 times a day. The mini cruise from the mainland to the ferry pier in Wyk - panoramic view of the Wadden Sea and the halligs included- takes about 50 minutes. Tourists, who prefer to travel by train will, benefit from the practical InterCity coaches of Deutsche Bahn in summer. Direct connections will be offered from Hamburg, Cologne, Berlin and Frankfurt to the Dagebuell-Mole ferry station, where the ferry to Foehr and Amrum is already waiting.
In a small plane to the "Frisian Caribbean"
The island of Foehr is easily accessible by plane. Twice a day, the "West Coast Airplane GmbH" offers a demand line as well as charter flights between the airport in Wyk on Foehr and the airport Sylt in Westerland. The flight from island to island takes only 15 minutes - so, let us enjoy an extended day trip and a convinient arrival via Sylt.
Those who like it even more exclusive, take the "air taxi" and reach the airport Cologne / Bonn in only about two hours or Hamburg in 45 minutes. By switching to an aircraft at the airport, even destinations such as London and Paris are only a few hours away from the "Frisian Caribbean".
In order to make the journey as pleasant as possible, there is the possibility to pick up your luggage and have it delivered directly to your desired address. In connection with a valid train ticket, Deutsche Bahn picks up the luggage with the help of Deutsche Post AG or Hermes Paket-Shop. This offer is valid from any location in Germany.
